The First Session
The first session is especially important because you will know by the end of it whether you feel like you are going to click with the psychologist and get the help you require.
During the initial session, the psychologist will explain how therapy works, ask you different questions to build up a big picture of you, your issues and what may have contributed/continue to be contributing to these, and help you to set goals for what can be achieved in sessions.
You will also have a chance to discuss your concerns and highlight particular areas that you wish to work on. Couples will be assessed in terms of goals and stage of couple development
